An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
That little proverb applies to many things – but it can also be taken literally when it comes to your health! Most people are familiar with the concept of the immune system. In short, your body builds its own defenses against a variety of invaders. The better it performs, the better you’ll feel.
Some types of immune support are preventive, like vaccines that teach your body to recognize and fight off certain (typically severe) diseases. But plenty of other illnesses can make you miserable, and many of them are prevalent during colder months and when kids head back to school. If you want to minimize your down time next time a stomach virus rips through your house, consider giving your immune system a boost at Pro Health.
Immunity Boosting IV
This little infusion packs quite a punch! Pro Health’s Immunity Boosting IV contains a powerful blend of Vitamin C, Zinc, glutathione and plenty of hydration – all important aspects of a healthy immune system. And as with all infusions, the nutrients are delivered straight into your bloodstream to support rapid absorption by your body.
This infusion is ideal for:
- anyone exposed to highly contagious illnesses, such as the flu or Covid-19.
- those in frequent contact with sick (or potentially sick) individuals, such as parents of young children, teachers, daycare workers and others.
- patients hoping to give their own recovery a boost, such as someone who recently recovered from a virus.
Some people should not get immunity IVs. But if you fall into one of the below categories, discuss your condition(s) with your Pro Health provider, as we may be able to tailor the infusion to your needs. Before booking an immunity boosting IV, let us know if you:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- have certain heart conditions, blood clotting disorders or blood pressure problems.
- suffer from kidney or liver disease.
That’s not all! If you don’t have time for an IV infusion session, we also offer a quick Tri-Immune Boost injection, which enhances your immune response and helps you fight disease-causing organisms after exposure.
Glutathione Injections
The human body’s immune system depends on a good balance of a variety of key vitamins and nutrients. One of those is glutathione. This powerful antioxidant plays a critical role in regulating inflammation, neutralizing free radicals and supporting cell health – all of which can translate into a healthy immune system.
Most healthy people’s bodies produce adequate levels of glutathione naturally in the liver. But some patients may benefit from supplemental injections, such as:
- Elderly individuals: As our bodies age, glutathione levels naturally decrease. The body may also struggle to maintain healthy glutathione levels.
- People who suffer or are at risk for certain chronic diseases, including health issues like Alzheimers’ Disease, liver problems, HIV/AIDS, diabetes and more, may benefit from improving their glutathione levels.
- Those who smoke; drink heavily; are chronically stressed; or who have poor diet or nutrition: Regardless of the “why” behind these factors, all can reduce the body’s ability to produce and maintain glutathione levels.
As always, some people should not get glutathione injections, including patients who are:
- pregnant or breastfeeding.
- undergoing chemotherapy.
- sensitive to sulfites.
- diagnosed with certain conditions, such as chronic kidney disease, certain liver diseases or G6PD deficiency, among others.
